Video Pitch for Race to the Top from the Superintendent

http://youtu.be/MfmNKa4Q6PY

This 2 and 1/2 minute video on You Tube, Thursday September 12, 2013, was sent to the professional staffs of Horry County Schools about 8:30 a. m., introducing them to our Race to the Top federal grant application, requesting their support, and wanting their signatures of support by the end of the school day.

Teachers from all participating schools in Horry County, approximately 50, were supposed to be involved in the development of the application in a meaningful way. This did not happen. The voting was an absolute mess. Study and evaluate the details of this in my November posts on this blog, "Teachers Are Citizens Too."

Please note that Dr. Elsberry says that there is nothing teachers have to do, but then she urges their support.  There was much teachers had to do, but they were not given the opportunity.
